Acer ginnala

Ideal for smaller landscapes. Oval form. Slipper-shaped, ruby red samaras in late spring. Dark green foliage turns orange/red in fall. Tolerant of alkaline soil and drought once established. Prefers a moist well-drained soil. Prune only in full-leaf as needed.

One of the best fall colors in Alberta for trees. Easy to take care of and super hardy. Great choice for a wind break or front yard tree.
