Quercus ellipsoidalis 'Bailskies'

Rare but a very hardy tree with glossy lobed green foliage turns vivid red/purple in fall. Most likely the nicest fall color of any tree in Alberta. Some years it will be bright red and others, a purple/red. Unique parallel branching that is horizontal instead of on an angle towards the sky. Leaves stay on the tree going into winter and turn brown after the fall color.

An improved Pin Oak with symmetrical structure and straight branching. Specimen/boulevard tree. Tolerates heavier/more alkaline soils better than other Pin Oaks.
